SDF (Sustainable Development Fee)

The Bhutan SDF, also called the Sustainable Development Fee, plays an important role in Bhutan’s tourism policy. This fee helps the country protect its environment, preserve its culture and support responsible development.

Current SDF for International Visitors

International visitors pay a Bhutan SDF of USD 100 per person per night.

Children aged 6 to 12 years receive a 50% discount. Therefore, they pay USD 50 per person per night.

Children aged 5 years and below pay no SDF.

SDF for Indian Nationals

Indian nationals pay INR 1,200 per person per night.

In addition, children aged 6 to 12 years usually receive a 50% discount. Children aged 5 years and below pay no SDF.

However, SDF rates can change when the Royal Government of Bhutan updates its tourism policy. Therefore, travelers should always confirm the latest rate before booking.
